Flood
Wood Stripper is four products in one: it can be used full strength or
can be diluted for multiple uses. It can strip old finishes and stains
from exterior wood, clean weathered exterior wood, reduce mill glaze or
eliminate grade stamps on wood.
BASIC
USES
• For exterior use only
• Exterior wood surfaces (decks, furniture, fences and siding, etc.)
• Previously coated exterior wood surfaces that need to be stripped
(including Cedar, Redwood, Pressure-Treated Wood)
• Unfinished exterior wood surfaces that need to be cleaned
BEFORE
YOU START
NOTE: Wear chemical resistant gloves, boots, goggles and protective clothing
• Wood Stripper is very slippery
• Shake container thoroughly
• Cover any areas you want to protect
• Thoroughly wet plants and shrubs
• Product may damage metal components of spray equipment
NEW
WOOD SURFACES:
New wood surfaces have a hard shiny surface called mill glaze that prevents
maximum penetration and bonding of a finish. To reduce mill glaze, add
1 quart of Flood Wood Stripper per one gallon of water. Allow to dwell
10-15 minutes and rinse with water.

MIXING
DIRECTIONS
• To strip finishes and stains and to remove grade stamps use full
strength
• As cleaner, add up to 1 quart per 5 gallons of water
• To reduce mill glaze and remove natural wood chemicals, add 1
quart per gallon of water
• To remove other factory-applied sealers, add 1 gallon per 4 gallons
of water
• If mildew is present, treat in one step by adding one quart of
bleach to one gallon of Flood Wood Stripper
APPLICATION
CAUTION: Surfaces are slippery when wet. Use caution when walking on wet
surfaces during application.
1. Do not store in, or use aluminum containers.
2. Stir well before use.
3. Do not apply on a hot surface; product will dry too rapidly.
4. Do not allow Flood Wood Stripper to dry. Keep surface wet with product
while working.
5. If cleaning vertical wood, work from bottom to top to avoid streaking.
6. Apply a uniform coat of Flood Wood Stripper on an area you can work
in 20-30 minutes.
7. If mildew is present, treat by adding one quart of bleach to one gallon
of Flood Wood Stripper.
8. Allow Flood Wood Stripper to remain wet on the surface for 20-30 minutes.
Rewet with Flood Wood Stripper to keep wet.
9. When finish begins to lift from the surface, scrub with a stiff, synthetic
bristle brush (do not use a wire brush).
10. Rinse well with the highest pressure from a hose, or pressure wash
at 500-1000 psi with a 25° or 15° tip and nozzle held 12-15 inches
from the surface.
11. If stubborn areas remain, repeat application in those areas.
12. Allow wood to dry 48 hours before applying a finish.
NOTE: Flood Wood Stripper may darken Cedar or Redwood. To brighten wood
after using product, dilute Flood Wood Cleaner or Flood Dekswood®
1:4 with water and spray or roll onto the surface. Wait 10 minutes then
rinse off with fresh water.
